OVERVIEW OF NYSIR SCHOLARSHIP

The NYSIR Scholarship is a need-based scholarship for students attending college in New York State. The scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and can be used for tuition, fees, and other educational expenses.

The NYSIR Scholarship is available to full-time and part-time students who are enrolled in an accredited college or university in New York State. To be eligible, students must demonstrate financial need, and be a resident of New York State.

To apply for the NYSIR Scholarship, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students will then be considered for the scholarship based on their financial needs.

The New York Schools Insurance Reciprocals offers scholarship programs as part of its founding aim and mission to provide financial stability and strengthen its subscribers with financial aid.

These NYSIR scholarships are for college-bound students from NYSIR subscribing districts only. A committee is adopted to review all applications, and the scholarships will be presented in May during the Annual Meeting.

ABOUT NEW YORK SCHOOLS INSURANCE RECIPROCALS (NYSIR)

NYSIR was formed in 1989 when public schools nationwide were affected dramatically by an insurance crisis. Some New York Districts were denied coverage altogether, while most skilled recompenses skyrocketed, making twice as much or attaining even higher levels. With that, NYSIR provides pricing stability, builds back lost coverage, provides a safe environment for children, staff, and the community, encourages subscriber input, and fights false, fraudulent, and frivolous claims.

NYSIR aims to provide detailed and cost-effective property and casualty insurance program for New York State public schools focusing on: superior insurance coverages, high-quality and cutting-edge risk management programs, and a proactive, subscriber-oriented assertions management program that enables a bond with schools based on trust and outstanding service.

NYSIR seeks to continue to be the exclusive insurance and risk management provider for public schools in New York State, strengthening financial stability and facilitating a true partnership with its subscribers.
