ABOUT NEW YORK SCHOOLS INSURANCE RECIPROCALS (NYSIR)

NYSIR was formed in 1989 when public schools nationwide were affected dramatically by an insurance crisis. Some New York Districts were denied coverage altogether, while most skilled recompenses skyrocketed, making twice as much or attaining even higher levels. With that, NYSIR provides pricing stability, builds back lost coverage, provides a safe environment for children, staff, and the community, encourages subscriber input, and fights false, fraudulent, and frivolous claims.

NYSIR aims to provide detailed and cost-effective property and casualty insurance program for New York State public schools focusing on: superior insurance coverages, high-quality and cutting-edge risk management programs, and a proactive, subscriber-oriented assertions management program that enables a bond with schools based on trust and outstanding service.

NYSIR seeks to continue to be the exclusive insurance and risk management provider for public schools in New York State, strengthening financial stability and facilitating a true partnership with its subscribers.
