Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, the following requirements must be fulfilled;

Applicants must: 

  • Be a legal U.S. Citizen.
  • Have attended or been a final year senior at an eligible Public High School.
  • Be a student in the 2021 high school graduating class.
  • Not have been convicted of a felony.

 

Eligibility requirements

Eligible candidates must:

  • Have obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Have scored 23 or higher on the ACT (Composite Score) or 1150 on the SAT.
  • Enroll at an eligible four-year college in the first semester following high school graduation.
  • Work 240 hours in the twelve months before the start of college; 
  • Complete the FAFSA in 2021 using 2020 tax return information; the EFC must not exceed 6 500 dollars.

 

Requirements from Beneficiaries

Eligible and chosen beneficiaries must: 

  • Live on campus during the first semester of college unless a waiver is obtained from HSF.
  • Must join at least one campus organization during the first year.
  • Must maintain a four-year or less graduation schedule.
  • Awardees must declare an academic major by the junior year of college.
  • Must complete 14 credit hours each fall semester.
  • Must complete 30 credit hours each academic year, excluding summer school.
  • Expected to achieve a 3.00-grade point average each semester.
  • Must maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average after the first semester.
  • Free summer workshops are mandatory for all beneficiaries.
  • Should not incur non-educational debt above $10,000 without HSF prior approval.
  • Must apply for eligible Federal, State, and Institutional Grants.
  • Must comply with HSF Policies and not act in a manner that discredits HSF, its Grantor, Trustee, employees, volunteers, other scholarship recipients, the college or university attended by the recipient or recipient.

 

Mandatory Application submission

The Application must be completed and submitted by September 20 each year.

The award amount will be determined and paid out by November 1 to the beneficiaries’ college or university. Payout is determined using a two-semester academic year.

Additional information

The school will send a hard copy of the recipient’s official Grade Transcript to HSF after completing the Fall Semester. 

No Electronic Or Emailed Transcripts Will Be Accepted. 

If the transcripts are not received by July 1, the student loses their scholarship unless HSF provides a waiver. 

Also, the recipient’s return address is not required on the school envelope.
