The Kent State University Scholarship for transfer students is automatically awarded merit scholarships after admission to Kent State University, and all transcripts from previous institutions have been approved and assessed. 

There is no additional application required to be considered for these awards. These transfer scholarships are competitive, and funding is limited. 

The awards are for a maximum of 4 semesters and are granted for fall and spring only.

Transfer students as considered for this scholarship if they are: United States citizens, Ohio residents, and have earned an associate degree from one of the following colleges before enrolling at Kent State University:

  • Stark State College

Transfer students may receive the Global Scholarship for up to eight semesters, depending on the number of credits transferred to Kent State.

International Student Graduate Assistance

Financial assistance for International Students at the graduate level is available in three forms. The first one is a graduate assistantship, in which the student will receive a tuition waiver and a monthly stipend in return for up to 20 hours of work per week during the academic year.
